This all started with my first jewelry class, the first time I lit that torch…. I was instantly drawn to the primitive feel of the flame and I was hooked. A lot of hard work, a lot of long hours later, with the support of great friends and 2 very special men in my life, I started my company.
My designs are reflective of what my eye instinctually focuses on. The natural organic arrangement of lines, textures and colors. The vast life forms on coral reefs, up to a towering yet delicate tree canopy down to a thick forest bed and right back up to that bird soaring overhead. I present to you my interpretations of the beauty that surround us, that I’ve created into tangible pieces for all to enjoy.
My creations are handmade interpretations of nature... land, sea and sky.
Each piece starts in bronze or sterling silver. The solid black and dark areas are a patina burnished into the surface. My vermeil is a thick layer of 14K gold.
When jewelry is not being worn, the best way to avoid tarnishing is to minimize exposure to air by storing it in a sealed plastic bag.
Different finishes have different care instructions. If you need to restore a little luster to the vermeil, silver, or bronze, simply rub with a polishing cloth. For the satin silver finish, use a soft brush with a little soap and water.
"Thank you! Enjoy and fly high with your jewelry by Blackwing Metals."
