Culling FF - "Water Lily Meditation II" - Framed 24" x 20" Pastel and Acrylic on Canvas Giclee

"A friend told me that the water lillies were blooming on Potter Lake on KU Campus. I went over and took 110 photos in 50 minutes. Each step provided 360 degrees of new compositions. I sketch with chalk pastels, then spritz the canvas lying flat, with acrylic matte medium in water. When the liquid hits the pastels, they burst with color and create a dotted surface that I like. Several layers seal the surface. When it is dry, I go back in with a brush to add washes and fine details." - Laurie Culling
